Have I mentioned that Charlotte HubbardNaomi King is my favorite Amish author If you haven t heard me say it before this book just clinched it While I do prefer her full length books this was such a clever idea to combine characters from her two series and what could be better than a Christmas setting I was enchanted enraptured and I found myself saying If only it worked like that in real life and I guess it sometimes does These two stories will make you believe in the spirit of romance and I even found myself wishing I was Amish at least momentarily I m going to be honest I preferred the second of the stories Mainly because one of my favorite characters was featured and had a second chance Tom has been one of the most endearing characters and I have always been impressed with him His tragic story gets a second chance and God s love and mercy are seen especially in his life I have to say that Charlotte is one who won t shy away from atypical things in Amish books When I think of Amish I don t automatically think of strong opinionated women and I certainly don t think of prospective spouses discussing the delights of the connubial bed But Charlotte s books always feature themes that are not readily associated with the Amish And the faith of these amazing people is always highlighted in a remarkable way Judgment is never passed on the belief system and it is often painted in a positive light While these books may involve less tragedy than the other books of hers I have read isn t that fitting for Chrismtastime After all Christmas and happy endings should go hand in hand Oh and she does include her signature Amish recipes at the end of the book Also as a side note I was reading this at school today and one of my students showed keen interest in it I was able to tell her all about these books and the amazing lady who writes themI was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review I was not financially compensated and all opinions are 100 percent mine
